Piece #3: Carved Totem in textured oak

41cm x 18cm - The third piece from 'Totem'; a series of shapes in sculpture.  A carved totem consisting of eight pieces from a single piece of oak.  I love the flow of this piece and the way the angular, wedged sections play with the rounded 'biscuit' sections. The piece is united by a layered textured that was laid down using a spoon carving hook knife.
