'Omega Nebula'

58cm x 27cm - 'Omega Nebula': a swirling mass of interstellar gas.  This large piece is carved from a single piece of spalted walnut.  It has been infiltrated by various fungi to cause significant colour change and patterning. This piece captures the scale and intensity of a Nebula through combining the shape and colour play throughout. 'Omega Nebula' has a depth and mystery to it which leads us to imagine casting an eye into deep space to observe the never-before-seen.
