This piece is made from a single piece of beautifully intricate and detailed ash. 'Aku-Aku' is a large, imposing sculpture which presents in the form of an Easter Island head; a slightly reclined 'head' shape leaning back off the main base and upright.  The carved, pale arch of the back directly contrasts with the woven grey interplay of the twisted grain on the front which moves around the piece in a down / up sweep.  'Aku-Aku'.
